Upgrade Magento to ver 2.3.6 with composer

Magento released 2.3.6 that includes 100 functional fixes and over 15 security enhancements. Security enhancements that help close remote code execution (RCE) and cross-site
scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities
CAPTCHA protection has been added in 2.3.6 to the following product areas
Place Order storefront page and REST and GraphQL endpoints
Payment-related REST and GraphQL endpoints.
2.3.6 Contains fixing of hundreds of issues related to Installation, upgrade, deployment, Amazon pay, Analytics, Backend, Bundled Products, Cache, cart and checkout, etc.
Magento strongly recommends merchants upgrade their stores as soon as possible.
To upgrade the stores to ver 2.3.6 is a common business requirement for merchants, So we are providing the steps to upgrade Magento ver to ver 2.3.6 with the composer.

1. Take Backup of composer.json file
cp composer.json composer.json.backup
2. Create a backup of your DB (strongly recommended)
mysqldump -u username -p databasename > mysqlbackup.sql
3. Enable maintenance mode
bin/magento maintenance:enable
4. Run composer command
composer require magento/product-community-edition=2.3.6 --no-update
5. Run composer update
6. Clear caches and clear generated content
rm -rf var/cache/*
rm -rf var/page_cache/*
rm -rf generated/code/*
Upgrade Database schema, compilation, and static content deploy
bin/magento setup:upgrade
bin/magento setup:di:compile
php bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy
7. Disable maintenance mode
bin/magento maintenance:disable
8.Run your application
